Harrogate Success!

Label Traders exhibited at the Harrogate Fashion & Gift Fair last weekend with great success! Now in its ninth year, we are pleased to say the Fair was the best and busiest year yet with thousands of customers attending the event most of whom visited the Label Traders stall. 

Our bestselling items were our huge variety of ladies cashmere jumpers and cardigans ex famous high street retailer. These were sold at £35.00 each or 2 for £50.00… Considering the RRP started from £69.00 each, it’s no wonder our customers were queuing at the Label Traders stall all day!

In addition to the quality cashmere on sale, we also had a huge selection of nightwear, dressing gowns, menswear and ladies outerwear.

We were delighted with the turnout this year and were very impressed with the organisation of the event. Thank you to all who attended and visited our stall, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many of you there and thanks for being so patient! We hope to see you in our shop in the near future! 

The Harrogate Fashion & Gift Fair takes place every year at the end of September. The event encompasses the latest fashions from the world’s showrooms, as well as a wide range of decorative accessories for the home, and gifts for friends and family.  

Coach Bookings

Shopping is one of life’s many pleasures (especially for a woman!) and here at the Label Traders Factory Shop we strive to offer our customers the very best stock all at considerably low prices – usually up to 70% off! As we are the only genuine factory shop in the East Midlands, we are able to sell end of lines, second garments and cancelled stock from well known high street retailers and brands. We have a huge selection of ladieswear, menswear and childrenswear, but we also stock a variety of homeware including bedding and towels. This in itself makes Label Traders full of hidden treasures, but in addition we are able to offer our customers free parking, a soft play area for children, and a canteen that offers hot and cold food and drinks.

This is why Label Traders is the perfect stop-off to many parties looking for a fun day out packed with a variety of offers and bargains! We often have coach loads of customers stopping off at our Factory Shop for an hour or so as part of an organised day out. Our bargains always put smiles on faces, and our welcoming and helpful staff are guaranteed to make your visit as pleasurable as possible. It’s well worth a visit!

We welcome coach parties from all over the country as we are in easy access of the M1 and A38. Refreshments can be made available if required, and we offer a £20 ‘thank you’ to organisers/drivers for parties of 15 people or more.

Preparations for our March Rummage Sale!

As always, here at Label Traders we strive to find the best possible bargains for our loyal customer base, and try to offer our VIP members exclusive offers and giveaways when we can.

We are currently rushed off our feet in preparation for our forthcoming Rummage Sale this weekend – 10^th and 11^th March. Rummage Sale was Snow Problem!

The first Rummage Sale of 2012 was a success – despite the snowy weather trying its best to disrupt it!

On Saturday we had almost 700 customers walk through our doors, all searching for bargains and low priced stock. Men’s hooded jumpers, ladies assorted knitwear ex Marks & Spencer, and men’s character t-shirts were among the most popular, not forgetting bag loads of children’s wear including pyjama’s and underwear.

Sunday proved slightly less successful due to the snow and ice around the site, but staff did a marvellous job of clearing the snow away so customers could access the Rummage Sale more safely and easily.

There were also teas, coffees and bacon butties available on Saturday from Potter’s Place Canteen for those in need of a warm up!

Thanks to all our customers for attending, as usual we are very grateful for your support.

First Rummage Sale of the year!

Preparations for the first Rummage Sale of 2012 are well underway here at Label Traders. 

We have had an abundance of deliveries since Christmas with new stock that has been filling up our already bulging warehouses. We have all been working hard to bring you, our loyal customers, even bigger and better bargains than ever before!

As usual we have a wonderful selection of mens and ladies knitwear ex Marks & Spencer, plus an assortment of children's pyjama sets, and a variety of  leisurewear, T-shirts, underwear and babywear. Prices from 25p to £5.

In addition, VIP customers will have the chance to an extra 20% off all purchases in the Label Traders Factory Shop all weekend!

Bag-sy that!

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the January sales are here and that can only mean one thing… BARGAINS! Whether you’re looking to update your winter wardrobe, replace your winter coat, or just use retail therapy as a means of cheering yourself up after what seems like an eternity of dark, cold mornings; the January sales will no doubt have something in store for everyone.

For me personally, that something is handbags. And lots of them! Whilst these can often be very expensive, not all handbags have to be pricy. Here at Label Traders, we strive to offer famous brands at discounted prices – usually up to 70% off. And we have just had a huge delivery of new stock arriving in store, including a variety of handbags ex Jane Norman, Next and ASOS.

This large tan leather handbag was £69.00 ex ASOS. Proving popular with customers (and staff!), this gorgeous bag is perfect for business women who have folders and files to carry, but it is also a great fashion accessory as tan is very ‘in’ this season, plus it is big enough to hold all your everyday items. Our End of Year Rummage Sale with a difference!

Well that was the busiest Rummage Sale in Label Traders’ history! Not only was it the last one of the year, but it was extra special because of the massive VIP Christmas Giveaway that we hosted. We are proud to say we gave away almost 1,000 free gifts including wine, beer, chocolates and gift vouchers, to our loyal VIP customers. It was our way of giving something back to thank them for their custom.

We witnessed a record-breaking 1,749 customers walk through our doors over the weekend, all of who were greeted by none other than Santa Claus himself! At one point Mr Claus was attacked by a group of young children who were eager to get their requests to him in time for Christmas! 

As it was our last Rummage Sale of 2011, all our end of line stock was up for grabs at unbelievably low prices, as well as a variety of children’s pyjamas, assorted knitwear and fantastic Christmas gift ideas including ladies scarves.

Thank you to all who attended and queued patiently outside in the cold – we hope it was worth the wait! After all that, no wonder we were so tired on Sunday evening!

Credit Crunch Christmas

It’s fair to say the majority of us will be moaning and groaning about how fast the past year has gone, and how quickly Christmas is coming around. It seems to get worse every year (or with age?!) but once again the dark winter mornings and freezing cold nights are upon us which can only mean one thing… Christmas is a coming.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll be frantically trying to get everything sorted for the big day – preferably with a few bargains in tow! But Christmas shopping doesn’t have to be stressful – or expensive. Here are a few tips on how to tackle the dreaded task –

1. Go to charity shops. There is nearly always a great bargain to be found which could make the perfect gift for a friend or family member. Try going to a charity shop in an affluent area as more often than not you will find some wonderful rich woman has left a few treats behind for you including faux fur coats, designer handbags or jewellery. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it we say!

2. Give out homemade gifts. Sometimes it’s the thought that counts and Christmas is about loved ones after all, so a framed photo montage, or homemade chocolate brownies will always go down well. If you’re feeling a little more creative, why not make a calendar with personal photographs and memories inside? Turning something old into something new is easy too – recycle an old handbag by dangling a retro printed scarf from the strap for a new on-trend look.

3. Visit factory outlets. These gems are perfect for finding high street clothing and a variety of labels all under one roof, at lower prices. The stock is new but you might find that back neck labels have been removed – other than that, they are completely un-damaged. There is usually a wide selection of menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and homeware so it’s the perfect place to find something for everyone – with up to 70% off! What are you waiting for?!

4. Prepare in advance. Rather than doing all of your Christmas shopping in November and December, and spending what seems like all of your money at once, why not try to prepare for Christmas a little bit early in the hope of saving a few sleepless nights? Buying a couple of presents throughout the year could save you a lot of time queuing, not to mention the amount of money you will save for that gorgeous Christmas party outfit if you do it gradually!

5. Hunt for offers. Ever seen a bargain when it’s only too late? It cannot always be avoided, but rather than buying something in the first shop you see, have a hunt round to try and see if it is cheaper anywhere else. Keep an eye out for offers and promotions on the run up to Christmas as well – shops often offer money off when you spend over £40 in store for example, so make sure you check your receipts and be on the lookout for any possible money-saving opportunities.

6. Buy it online. Thank the lord for online shopping! It’s a great way to avoid queues, manic shoppers and carrying the bags! However it can be dangerous because you can spend money so easily at the click of a button, so be sure to stay focused and remember to check your bank statements are correct.

Wow what a Rummage Sale that was!!!

Since we moved to the new location opposite the Potter’s Place Canteen, we have been able to show even more stock much easier than before and the results have been dramatic! Even we didn’t realize just how good this stock was, but we continue to treat our loyal customer base by keeping prices remarkably low.

We witnessed customers with armfuls and bag loads of Marks & Spencer and Mothercare end of lines…babywear, kidswear and assorted knitwear were among the most popular, not forgetting M&S Ladies’ Pyjamas ex store price of £22 for only £3!!!

No wonder we were so busy!

My team have told me we need to dig deep to find the next bargains for the last clearance sale of the year which will be some time in December…if we can make it as attractive!

The Harrogate Show last weekend was the busiest ever!

We had a tremendous range of M&S cashmere knitwear retailing at anywhere from £49 to £125 that we were selling at £25 or 2 for £40…we brought back very few!

We also had a great range of M&S nightwear at similarly discounted prices and we met many friends of Label Traders, both old and new!

The people of Yorkshire were treated to that famous Label Traders “thrill of the chase” and judging by the very warm reception we received, went away happy…

WIN a VIP Ticket to this Saturday’s Forest v Derby Game

No red-blooded football fan would pass up the opportunity to watch Nottingham Forest take on Derby County at the City Ground on Saturday – but for one lucky winner, the match is just the beginning…

Label Traders Factory Shop, based in Sutton in Ashfield, has offered an unexpected prize of one VIP ticket to the game, including; a champagne reception, a four course meal, half and full time refreshments, complimentary programmes, commemorative photograph and – the icing on the cake – the opportunity to present the matchball to both teams’ captains on the pitch.

July Rummage Sale

The last Label Traders factory rummage sale was our most successful ever!

For the first time and due to tremendous demand, we moved the location from the "Potters Place" factory canteen to across the way in the warehouse closer to Label Traders.

This enabled us to have considerably more room to display the ever growing amounts of stocks and for more customers to gain access. In addition we developed an entry and exit system that made the whole event run much more smoothly.

Encouraged by the positive results and feedback from our customers, it would appear that there is no going back now and we look forward to making future rummage sales even more attractive and exciting!!!

What is a Label Traders Rummage Sale?

At Label Traders we are often being asked what exactly is our Rummage Sale all about?

Every few weeks our M&S factories and warehouses need to clear out their stocks to keep them organised and to a controlled level. These clear-outs usually involve large quantities of oddments comprising a variety of clothing items.  In addition, we get samples from our commercial teams and our sample machine room that we are unable to store - so add them into the clear out stock.

All of this stock is put together in a separate area of the Label Traders site (at Kirkby Road in Sutton in Ashfield, Notts) and we simply open the doors to the public!

As you will expect, these sales are eagerly anticipated by our customers, who 'feast' on the piles of some genuinely exclusive stock and bargains - generally sold from 25p to no more than £5!

Isn’t it great when someone blows your trumpet for you?

We are always very grateful when customers tell us how much they like Label Traders, whether they do that in person, on Facebook, or any other way they choose. But, how brilliant when someone decides to sing your praises in one of the leading, national  women’s magazines!
